The First Conversation

Thirty minutes.
No slides.
No pitch.

We will ask you three or four direct questions about your commercial situation
and tell you honestly whether we are the right firm for the problem.
If we are not, we will say so — and where we can, point you towards
someone better suited.

The button above currently links nowhere. Please supply the Calendly, SavvyCal or equivalent booking URL. This is the single highest-impact outstanding item on the entire site — every call-to-action across every page routes here, and a contact form alone converts substantially worse than direct booking for engagements at this level.

Or tell us what is happening.

If you would rather write first, this reaches the founder directly. The more specific you are about the commercial problem, the more useful the reply will be.

Not sure? Choose the last option. Establishing which problem you actually
have is what the first conversation is for.

Specifics help. "Win rate has fallen from 30% to 18% since we entered Germany"
produces a far more useful first conversation than "we need sales training".

    What Happens Next

    No mystery.
    Here is the whole process.

Buyers at this level are entitled to know what they are agreeing to before
    they agree to it.

    01

    You book, or you write

Either route reaches the founder directly. Enquiries are answered within
one business day, including a straight answer if we do not think we are
    the right fit.

    02

    The thirty minutes

Three or four direct questions about your commercial situation. No presentation,
no capability deck. If we can help, we outline what the first thirty days
would involve. If we cannot, we say so.

    03

    Then you decide

If it makes sense to continue, the next step is a written proposal for the
Phase One diagnostic — scope, duration and cost, with no obligation attached
to the conversation that produced it.

    Come Prepared

The questions we will actually ask.

There is no advantage in surprising you with these. If you have thought about
them beforehand, the thirty minutes will be considerably more valuable to both
    of us.

    • 01

“What has changed commercially in the last twelve months, and when did you first notice it?”

    • 02

“When you lose a deal you expected to win, what reason gets recorded — and do you believe it?”

    • 03

“What have you already tried, and what specifically happened when you tried it?”

    • 04

“If this were resolved in twelve months, which number would tell you that it had been?”

    Before You Book

Worth knowing, so neither of us wastes the half hour.

    Good Use of the Call

    Book if

You have a commercial problem you can describe, even imprecisely. You have some ability to act on the answer — budget, authority, or the ear of whoever holds both. You are open to the diagnostic telling you something uncomfortable, including that the cause sits with leadership rather than the team. And you are thinking in quarters and years rather than weeks.

    Poor Use of the Call

    Probably do not book if

You are gathering three quotes for a procurement process and price will decide it. You need a motivational speaker for a conference. You want a proposal without a conversation first — we do not produce those, because a proposal written without diagnosis is guesswork. Or you are researching the market with no intention to act this year. In each case we would rather you kept your time, and ours.

    Common Questions

    Practical
    matters.

No, and this is not a rhetorical answer. There is no presentation, no capability deck and no proposal at the end of it. The call exists to establish whether there is a commercial problem we can genuinely help with. A meaningful proportion of these conversations end with us saying that there is not — which is why we can make the promise credibly.
[PLACEHOLDER — YouFirst to supply. We strongly recommend giving at least an indicative range here, for example "engagements typically begin at £X for a Phase One diagnostic, with full programmes ranging from £X to £X depending on scope and duration." Withholding all pricing signals is common but costly: it filters out serious buyers who need to know they are in the right bracket before committing time, while attracting enquiries from organisations who could never have afforded the work. Premium firms signal premium.]
Generally no, and we will usually decline the work rather than proceed without it. Delivering against a problem that has not been properly established is how engagements in this category fail. The diagnostic is typically two to three weeks and is the phase most responsible for whether the rest produces a result.
Yes. Programmes are delivered in English, French, Italian and Arabic, across UK, European and Middle Eastern markets. Virtual delivery is available anywhere. [PLACEHOLDER — YouFirst to confirm which countries you will travel to for on-site delivery, and any restrictions on travel.]
Yes. Discovery calls are confidential as a matter of course, and formal engagements operate under a written confidentiality agreement. No client is named publicly, in a case study or anywhere else, without their explicit written permission.
Because engagements are delivered by the founder rather than an associate team, capacity is genuinely limited and lead times vary. [PLACEHOLDER — YouFirst to confirm typical current lead time, for example "diagnostics typically begin within three to four weeks of agreement."] Where a situation is genuinely urgent, say so on the call and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
